Plant the seed of neighborhood and cultural history with the Beach Flats Garden Social History Project.
Learn about this historic site through photos, articles, and leaflets, and oral histories from gardeners describing their early years farming in Mexico and El Salvador, the paths of migration that led them to Santa Cruz, and how the garden has played an important role in their lives today.
Visitors can plant seeds, taking home a piece of history in the form of unique genetic material cultivated and selected in the garden over time.
